Castlemartin Corse

No repeat of Tuesday's spectacular as water levels are dropping sharply, and only one marsh harrier was in evidence. There was a flock of 99 greylags on the flood meadow upstream of the pines (which I checked carefully for extraneous grey geese), along with a much-reduced flock of teal, 200-odd lapwing and 50-odd golden plover. A buzzard was perched on top of the hide as I arrived, and a crow chased a female merlin out of the reedbed.
