Southwood

A large mixed flock on the arable at Southwood today. I estimated around 150 - 200 birds in a mixed flock of Chaffinch and a few Linnet, Meadow pipits, Skylarks and Reed buntings. Hard to be sure what was what in the thick mizzle but I estimate that it was around 40% chaffinch/linnets, 40% meadow pipit/skylark and 20% Reed bunting. There were certainly at least twenty reed bunting sitting in a patch of Elder in the hedge at one point. Surprised by the number of Reed bunting - the most I have seen in Pembs!
