From Graham Brace - there was a flock of 110 blackwits feeding on the mudflats in Llangwm Pill this morning. They've been present for the last 3 days. Last winter we had varying numbers here from November through to March (peaking on one occasion to 138 individuals) but this winter, until this weekend, we have just had very occasional visits from small groups of no more than half a dozen.
Following Grahams email I checked Cosheston Pill at lunchtime. There were 88 Blackwits here.
