The Teifi - waders.... & Pochard !!

Again a look on the falling tide this evening delivered - maybe one of our heaviest passage counts...
450+ Dunlin,  40 Ringed Plover, 7 Sanderling, 6 Grey Plover, 10 Bar-tailed Godwits, 1 Turnstone, 1 Knot, 1 Greenshank and 1 Common Sandpiper. No Whimbrel on the estuary, just 5 Curlew but a Whimbrel was calling on the reserve, where we were amazed to see a female Pochard diving on Mallard Pond, Pochard a real north coast scarcity.
(Wendy J and Rich D)

CES ringing on the reserve this morning produced a nice bird - our 1st Greenfinch at CES since 2013, this bird a female with brood patch supports more widespread observations that the species may be making a comeback....
