Preseli woodlands - trying to raise the bar

With an influx of Two-barred crossbill in Shetland I spent the evening having a look around some Preseli woods, well you never know. Numbers of Common Crossbill (20+) feeding on abundant spruce cones, largest flock 6-7 birds. Willow tit in 4 spots. 2 Goshawk. A Common shrew corpse was host to a number of Red-breasted carrion beetle. Earlier today first Cleddau Kingfisher of the year flying upriver near the 'Trader'.
