Noting Richard's interesting comments, we first saw an adult Med Gull at Carew Millpond on 13th Sept 2015. It was resting then in exactly the same patch of mud it was at today. Of course it isn't ringed so we cannot be sure it is the same individual but most probably it is.
A Polish black-headed gull (metal-ringed) also turns up at Pembroke Millpond in winter and we've seen that one on exactly the same bit of wall for at least 4 year's running. Hopefully it will be there again this coming winter.
And on this subject - how long has the ring-billed gull been coming to Lys-y-fran res. and where does it go to in the summer?
