Although quite a lot of the upper pond is difficult to observe, we could see that numbers of black-tailed godwits (a mixture of adults and juveniles) are starting to increase here. At least 20 were feeding in the shallows along side 2 greenshanks. Not too much to report from the main millpond (much of its surface area is covered by blanket weed algae) but c.10 little grebes (2 family groups included) and and at least 60 mallards (many in eclipse plumage) were resting on the far side. A quick check of the BH gulls revealed no obvious ringed birds.
