The Teifi

High tide counts this morning included 1 Knot, 6 Sanderling, 14 Ringed Plover, and 20 Dunlin.
Whatever the tide height c80-90 Curlew are in the estuary, 9-10 Black-tailed Godwits are on the reserve or in the main estuary. Two Turnstone and 2 Common Sandpipers were at the Webley yesterday.
The only breeding pair of Mute Swans still have 3 cygnets and we only have 3 juvenile Shelduck, a very poor year for them. 3 red-head Goosander are on the river having been present a while.
A couple of hours sea-watching this morning - 68 Common Scoter west, a Sparrowhawk coming in off the sea, 2 Sandwich Terns and 3 Whimbrel were the notable species.
