Curlew Sandpipers & other totals from the Teifi

The highlights today involved the arrival of waders and ducks through the day. By this evening totals included 3 juvenile Curlew Sandpipers, 11 Sanderling, 36 Ringed Plover, 36 Dunlin, 11 Knot, 5 Bar-tailed Godwits, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Lapwing and c80 Curlew, all in the main estuary.
On the reserve early this morning 1 Greenshank and 2 Snipe, but best a Coot on the river.
Wigeon increased from c15 in the morning to over 50 by 6pm, a flock of 12 Teal were watched flying in to the estuary and promptly landed on Patch and all went to sleep - head under wing.
Goosander on the reserve are spread out but 8 appears to be the maximum, the Black Swan is still present usually with a party of Mutes off  St Dogmael's Quay.
