Dotterel, still Dale airfield

The Dotterel was still in the favoured field on Dale airfield this afternoon. Dozen or so Ringed plover and a Dunlin. The Dotterel took a bit of finding in the stiff wind, it can really blend in against the bare earth. Best views were from the western side of the field as the waders move over to take advantage of the shelter offered by the bank.

Put up 2 dunlin/small waders on the grassy runway which is nicely filled with pools of water, too blustery to get clear views or hear any calls.
