Belated Records

Just a couple of observations - LOADS of Chough feeding on Tenby Golf course in the last month effectively aerating the fairways and removing tons of leatherjackets.  Best flock was 32 together on 22nd September but 22 on 26th in a flock plus pairs and smaller groups scattered around the whole course.  At times incredibly tolerant of people within a few yards and one day a whole flock in the top of a conifer noisily congregating before heading out to the course and nearby fields to forage - I don't ever remember seeing a flock of chough up a tree before.

Also on 22nd a report of three Avocet on the western Cleddau upriver from Little Milford at mid tide. Maybe still around - sorry for not posting earlier (from Martin Wigley and Kate Bishop)
