Colour-ringed Great Black-backed Gulls

As well as regularly recording red-ringed Skokholm Great Black-backed Gulls at the Gann & on Dale Airfield, I've recorded two different yellow colour-ringed juvenile (1CY) birds in recent weeks (Dale Airfield, 20th September, D:GZ & Gann, yesterday, D:GS). Both were ringed at their nests on Denny Island in the Bristol Channel on 15th June this year (I'd never heard of it before: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denny_Island). Thanks to Richard Clarke for the feedback.

I also recorded a red-ringed bird 2CY at the Gann yesterday, which I initially assumed was a Skokholm bird, but when I read it (408:D) I realised it must be from somewhere else.  Richard Brown suspected Dublin, and he was right: it was ringed on Ireland's Eye Island, Dublin, on 8th July 2018. Thanks to Graham Prole for that one.

Finally, a green-ringed juvenile on the airfield on 20th September (B:147) was ringed on one of the two small islands in Aberdaron Bay (Ynysoedd Gwylanodd - Gull Islands) in June this year. Thanks to Steve Stansfield (Bardsey Island) for the information.

D:GS at the Gann yesterday - you can almost make out the S!
