The Teifi

A Willow Tit not far from the reserve car park was probably the best bird of the day, plenty of Goldcrests around but nothing with them today.
The number of Wigeon (150+) is increasing daily as with some wader, 22 Lapwing, 42 Golden Plover and 17 Redshank. The more consistent counts, 1 Grey Plover, 1 Greenshank, 4 Turnstone, 4 Bar-tailed Godwits, 18 Ringed Plover and 11 Dunlin.
The Black Swan is still with the c15 Mute Swans, and  early morning 65 Barnacle Geese flew  from the estuary to feed on nearby fields. We are missing c100 Barnacle Geese since the highest post breeding count. (40 nests on Cardigan Island this year, a max count of c180 ads and juvs late August on the Teifi)
