Angle

At Castlemartin Corse this morning there were 2 well marked female/juvenile Marsh Harriers over the reedbed. At the beach end there were c.400 Lapwing and at the opposite end past the pines 28 Greylags. Otherwise pretty quiet despite a large amount of water in front of the reedbed - which will, no doubt, quickly drain as the outfall on the beach is working full blast. Just 2 Teal, and c.60 Black Headed Gulls on the water with 8 Shoveller flying over. Also 2 Herons 15 Curlew and 3 Buzzards seen.

Round at Kilpaison with the tide dropping I bumped into Bob and Annie and Mike Davey. A really good count of 47 Brents were close in plus 6 Mute Swans, 25 Dunlin, 2 Little Egrets, 18 Redshank, c.50 Curlew and Bob spotted a male Scaup. Earlier Mike had seen a Pintail and a Goldeneye.

The Long Tailed Duck is still at Pembroke Castle Pond.
