Yesterday morning, during a meeting of the MOD Pembrokeshire Ranges Conservation Group, a black redstart (female/immature) put in a brief appearance on the roof of an adjacent building within Manorbier Range. The view of it through the window was unfortunately all too brief for me to point it out to others in the room. Four rock pipits and two pied wagtails were also present on the roof, they spent most of the morning searching for insects on the same roof. Like wagtails, rock Pipits also seem to find buildings, including some that are well-inland from the coast, to be good sources of food at this time of year.
