Lisa had a first-winter Goldeneye at the Gann on Sunday (24th), the first record that I'm aware of here this winter (there was a single bird last winter) but we haven't seen it since. Just passing through?
This morning at low tide a huge flock of large gulls on the beach & river mouth, difficult conditions (windy) meant I couldn't read the 3CY red-ringed Great Black-backed Gull, and neither could I nail down a potential Yellow-legged Gull. 4 adult Mediterranean Gulls were amongst the Black-headed. At least 3 Water Rails have been calling from the Crabhall reedbed.
