An influx of Common Gulls, >50, c 1/3 1st cy. Just 1 ringed one, Green J535, ringed as a 1cy near Oslo in Oct 2013. Reported 20+ times since then, all until today at the ringing area - so the 1st sighting outside Norway & the first in Winter.
Virtually all the ringed Common Gulls I have seen at Newport are from Norway. A reflection of where ringing happens? I don't remember seeing a Swedish ringed bird of any species.
Also present the Russian BH Gull Black K052 & the long lived Med White 372A which regularly winters in West Wales.
