The Black Redstart was still mobile around the church & nearby rooftops around midday today. It spent all the time we were watching it opening & closing its bill, as if trying to cough something up. Also a male Kestrel there too (a regular spot for this species).
Speaking of Kestrel, we recorded one along the B4327 near Hasguard Cross yesterday (rarely we see one along this road) and today one was over the Gann, initially hovering over the Jubilee reedbed, then drifted off north. Also at the Gann, again at Jubilee, a Moorhen - other than a dead one on the road earlier in December, the first one I've seen here in a long time. (Dave & Lisa)
