At Sandyhaven this morning on the Gull roost just two Meds in with the GBB`s & BHG`s, one had a yellow ring - frustratingly I could only make out appeared to be A--H. Some 20 Wigeon & c50 Teal also.
En-route to Sandyhaven I`d seen a large flock of Lapwings drop into the fields somewhere between there & Bicton & decided to take the back lane to St Ishmaels to check them out, I took the F.P. through the field adjacent to Bicton farm, when a Red Kite flew along the hedgerow some 200m ahead & put everything up, which took me by surprise to say the least! I couldn`t even begin to count what was airborne, c2000 Lapwing(?) some 3 - 4000 Golden Plover(?) eventually dispersing & landing in the surrounding fields around St Ishmaels. Two Drake Tufted Duck on Bicton irrigation pond I managed to count though...…. oh, and the Blackcap in the garden yesterday, the shadow on the photo being the reflection of the internal windowsill.
