A first winter Scaup was with a group of eight Tufted ducks at Marloes Mere this afternoon, firstly on the pool in front of the Britton Hide and then on the North Irrigation Pool. Apart from that, the usual Gadwall, Shoveller, Wigeon, Teal and Mallard were present, as were a fox and a number of pheasants. About half a dozen Snipe were spooked, and flew round, before returning to the Mere.
