A bit of sunshine and slightly less wind, though eyewateringly cold, (C 5) had us out and about, but for little return. A couple of Robins, and two Long tailed Tits were all we could find at Porth Clais though the pussy willows were a nice portent of spring.
Water levels unsurprisingly high at Trefeiddon, we heard, but could see no ducks, otherwise no sign of the raptors we were hoping for. Pen Beri had only gulls and a hand full of Canada Geese.
Finally, a Goshawk crossed the Dowrog heading north, A very pale Buzzard perched on a rock had us wondering until it took off . nothing more of note, other than a rather beautiful cock Pheasant and a Jay.
I really wonder why the raptors that seemed quite plentiful, before Christmas seem to have deserted Dowrog. Short Eared Owl which was usually a near cert has only given us one sighting by this winter.
