Following on from Steve and Anna's post about Tawny Owls, from a point about 200 yards down the road from Orlandon Kilns on a still evening we can hear two pairs. One at Slate Mill and one near Mullock - I guess they would be ones from "the woodland en route to Marloes village". If we all did this I reckon we could map the local population! The sound is certainly carrying very well on the calmer nights.
