The Teifi Marshes

This evening before the rain, a good show of Hirundines, 2+ House Martins and 1+ Swallow feeding with 100 Sand Martins.
Earlier today 4 Greylag Geese were circling over the marsh and c35 Teal still remain, all paired up and presumably not going overseas to breed..?   Shoveler may well be attempting to breed and one of our two pairs of Mute Swans are nest building, being very territorial in one of the Mallard Pond net rides...!

Chiffchaff remain the most common warbler, a couple of Willow Warblers and an arrival of Blackcaps this morning with at least 6 singing.
Common Sandpiper, Common Snipe, 3 Black-tailed Godwits and 7 Curlew are usually feeding along the river and a drake Goosander is still present.

Other recent sightings, a late Fieldfare over, a feeding Kingfisher and one of our Little Egrets has bright reddish-orange feet, and must be breeding not too far away.
Few records from the estuary though a Ringed Plover had joined the 2 Greenshank yesterday.
