House Martins were the predominant hirundine species over the valley and adjacent fields today: a dense column of birds over a hundred feet high moving with the breeze and swarms of bibio flies. No Swifts today, but good numbers of Sand Martins, including a flock of 40 that flew north over the Deer Park at 1800.
Still singing Willow Warblers, and Greenland Wheatears in the Car Park field. And a pair of Peregrines jousting and calling: wonderful stuff.
