Ridgeway

In the willow and gorse scrub woodland just below the wheatear fields, a garden warbler was singing from dense cover. I waited for ages in the shadow of a tree until he popped up, and was richly rewarded. The inevitable St Mark's flies in attendance.

The wheatear passage seems to have tailed off - for anyone interested these are the four fields that have produced 20 Greenland wheatears since April 15.
