Clive Hurford has sent a nice photo of a juvenile redpoll being fed by a smart adult male in his garden.
The male appeared
with the one juvenile on Thursday, with second one joining the first in the garden
yesterday.
He suspects that they bred somewhere not far from his home near Fishguard.
Redpoll is a species we seem to have few up to date breeding location records for I suspect. We occasionally see them, though rarely these days, in the Landshipping/Martletwy area. Perhaps they are still breeding in forestry areas and some of the scrubby valleys in south and southeast Pembs.?
