Best wake-up call today: a Cuckoo from just after 0400! Still calling at 0645, out on the Trehill Farm fields.
Lots of other bird song in the valley over the last few days, including a Blackcap and Willow Warbler: where did they appear from!
Recent fledglings include at least one family of Sedge Warblers, Blackbirds and Wheatears. Still waiting for the Choughs: both adults are feeding near-continuously, but have a tough time given the bone dry ground.
