Gann

Tuesday's Arctic Tern was another addition to our Crabhall list (the last two additions have been terns!).  We have had up to 3 Knot but just 1 Ruff so the opposite to Brian & Derek.  The wagtails are being carefully checked for Yellows (the 2 ringed nearby at Winterton gives us hope!) and fingers crossed a Citrine finally graces us with its presence (again, hopes are high with a record on Bardsey today).

Sightings of colour-ringed waders continues, most enjoyable (apart from seeing Oystercatcher 01) was finding that 4 of the 12 or so Redshank here have rings and that we managed to read all of them - they can be really tricky!  We have also enjoyed some close views of juvenile Dunlin as they pass through, although the spring tides have wiped out all the muddy margins on the lagoon now so hopefully it will look good for waders again in 7-10 days.

A walk at St Ann's Head on 16th produced a smart juvenile Whinchat, as well 3 Wheatears, 4 Willow Warblers, 6 Pied Wagtails, 18 Starlings and a Whimbrel.
