Spent the day birding my local area yesterday. Dawn walk from Pwll Deri to Pen Brush saw an obvious movement west of Meadow Pipit - at least 500 birds in 1.5 hrs. Also 6 Wheatear, 35 Stonechats and 12 Robins. 2 Chiffchaff in the only bush for miles. 20 Chough feeding at sunrise. Small groups of House Martin also heading west, total of 150 with similar numbers of Swallow.
Dowrog and Penberi Pond dead.
Treleddyd common had a singing Cettis Warbler, new for me there, with a Reed Bunting (dont see many here oddly).
St Davids airfield had 2 Ringed Plover, 12 White Wagtail and a Wheatear on the ploughed field, no hoped for rare waders, so i headed south to see the Buff breasted Sandpipers at Marloes. A rare twitch for me and my first from a pay and display car park (i think!).
