Gann, St Brides & Angle Bay

We managed at least 52 Mediterranean Gulls (mostly adults, a few each of 1CY and 2CY) at the Gann as the tide went out, including 3 white-ringed adults (32EN, 3VTR, 3368).  Also a Skomer ringed Herring Gull & a Skokholm Great Black-backed.  a Merlin whizzing towards Musselwick was a good find by Lisa, and a single Siskin flew west (another went south over Dale earlier).  7 Bar-tailed Godwit and 5 Dunlin were the wader highlights.

On Thursday there was a single Ruff and a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper on the pools.  Iolo Williams recorded 2 Great Egrets in the saltmarsh channels and a single Whinchat on Dale Airfield.

At St Bride's late afternoon difficult in the windy conditions but we did dig out 2 Coal Tits with a mixed tit flock, and a couple of Goldcrests.  Lots of Swallows and a few House Martins hawking over the fields on the sheltered side of the woods.

From Owen & Glynis Roberts who visited Angle Bay today - 34 Mediterranean Gulls (32 adults and 2 2CY), 2 Bar-tailed Godwits and 39 pale-bellied Brent Geese.
