Grassholm / Ramsey

Managed to get out to Grassholm today, the one and only time I have landed this year. Usual annual cutting free of birds entangled in fishing gear. The good news being we only needed to cut free 14 birds, the lowest on record and continues the trend of recent years. Reasonable numbers of adults gannets still on the island (low 1000's). Migrant wise we logged:

wheatear 1, blackbird 4, redwing 1, robin 2, pied wagtail 1, swallow 4, carrion crow 1, goldfinch 27, linnet 6, blackcap 2, starling 2

Also rock pipit 7, raven 1, shag 2, GBB gull 120, herring gull 52

On Ramsey of note of late - a second YBW (13/10), coal tit (13/10), ring ouzel (15/10) - 3rd record of the year, mistle thrush (15/10) - 1st of the year and 2 long-tailed tits today (1st of the year)

Big thanks to Thousand Islands Expeditions for donating 4 hours of boat time free of charge
