Marsh Harrier

From John Bearne:

I disturbed a lovely female Marsh Harrier resting on the ground in a field west of South Hook farm. I regularly see Hen Harriers around from this time on but have only seen Marsh harriers around the mere on the peninsular. A female merlin, two red kites at Mullock Bridge and lots of buzzards made this a good morning for raptors. There was also a large movement of hirundines mainly west of Trehill Farm. They were making the most of a favourable weather window ahead of the next storm. A single great spotted woodpecker in a largely treeless landscape was also of note.
