Blackbirds have arrived at Orlandon Kilns

Until today the fallen apples under the trees have remained untouched - even our resident Blackbird wasn't interested. But today the Scandinavian hordes arrived - they are being a bit slow finding the apples (and indeed our untouched hawthorn berries) but we have now had a maximum of 5 feeding on the apples. Soon the numbers will be in the 20s. Also there is a Blackcap feeding on a still-attached apple in exactly the same way as the Orphean used to feed. Same tree too. So we will keep watching out of the bedroom window, camera to hand, just in case!
