The last 40 minutes of usable daylight produced a distant hunting Merlin. Three separate flocks of Fieldfares each of around 50 birds came into roost among the thorn scrub . A ring-tailed Hen Harrier appeared low over the south-west of the moor flew over the road and dropped into the scrub presumably to roost.
