In the Wood next to the pink cottages at St Brides this afternoon, I flushed a Woodcock as I entered at the top end which flew out & over the lane, further down as I was about exit the trees another one flew up before dropping back into the undergrowth a few metres away. How many more were in there I wondered? I haven`t seen one for a couple of years.
