To the list of 8 diurnal raptors seen at the Corse so far this winter we can add two nocturnal - barn owl and short-eared owl. The pellets left on the hide have been identified as barn owl, and (as mentioned below) David Ord saw a short-eared owl hunting over the fen meadow this morning. The owl count is (at least) 3, as tawnies hang out in the Monterey pines, but you need to be down there at night for those.
