Driving back down past Winterton Farm this afternoon, after a fruitless scan of Trehill fields, this morning`s flock of Lapwing seen from the Gann were moving right to left over the road from Philbeach to the fields in front of Winterton Farmhouse. Hard to quantify but maybe a thousand plus birds, with a huge flock of Starlings too, quite a spectacle.
