The Teifi

The heavy rains turn the the waters of the River Teifi brown and we have temporarily lost our Goosanders but we still have our pair of Goldeneye diving in the river through the reserve this morning. The lone Black-tailed Godwit again roosting with the small Curlew flock at Mallard Pond. Out in the estuary all a bit quiet with most species gone for shelter elsewhere from the northerly blast straight down the river. No Golden Plover but c350 Lapwing and c30 Dunlin. No Greylags but c230 Canada Geese, only c180 Wigeon also lower numbers than late, 26 Curlew, 25 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, and 16 Shelduck. By Teifi standards we were Gull free !
