The two female Brambling have now been joined by a rather splendid male. With spring in the offing I’m unsure what is, to him, the bigger attraction, the seed we put out or the two unattended females. This picture, through a rain soaked window doesn’t quite do him justice.

at Sprinkle Pill a few days ago a group of Black-tailed Godwit put in a
welcome appearance, having been quite scarce for a month or two.
