Another ouzel hunt around the coastal fields and across the airfield from Marloes Mere side was pretty quiet. The only two black birds on the airfield were indeed a pair of Blackbirds. The other black bird that caught my eye was a raven making short work of a lambs carcass, a buzzard and a GBB were waiting expectantly. No chough today. 6 Wheatear around Hoopers Point looked like they were new, inc my first female and a male in song, not the most tuneful ditty. A single White wagtail and a single starling. 2 Snipe. As Saturday, linnets most obvious with counts of 80, 50, 40, 20 plus smaller groups feeding on grass seeds. Male Kestrel over Marloes Sands. A Little grebe on an overgrown farm pond.
Back at the mere a quick look from the Oriole Hide, numbers of mostly Sand martin and fewer Swallows over the mere, the pair of Tufties still here, 6pr Shoveler, 5pr Teal, 2pr and a female Wigeon and pair Shelduck. 3 Blackcap and a Chiffchaff and a very tatty Painted Lady on the track down.
