Freshwater West, Castlemartin Corse, Carew...

At low tide, at least a dozen gannets were diving quite close inshore at Freshwater West this morning.

A few more whitethroats and sedge warblers were singing on and around Castlemartin Corse.

This gorgeous male wheatear - a candidate for Greenland - was feeding in the field on the north side of Carew Millpond, just over the National Park's nicely laid hedge. He seemed to be finding plenty to eat in the short grass and sandy molehills, and with the hedge between us not a bit shy - no cropping required! He was exactly 2km due north of my Ridgeway fields, for what that's worth.
