For the first time this morning we had a ringed Oystercatcher that wasn't ringed here! It appears 'X4' is from Ireland - we await further details.
A really nice movement of Whimbrel the past few days: 31+ on 18th, 40+ on 19th, and at least a dozen today, strongly suspect a constant stream as they all seem to head off up the valley after a while. Also today 2 lingering Black-tailed Godwit, a single Bar-tailed Godwit, 7 Ringed Plover, 3 Dunlin, 4+ Redshank and 2 Greenshank.
The sinensis Cormorant continues its stay, along with the 17 Brent Geese. (Dave & Lisa)
ps - from the photos, not sure that Yellow Wagtail is a pure flava: the blue looks too washed out and the supercilium too long and flared - seems to fit 'Channel' Wagtail better (flava x flavissima). Whatever, it is a beautiful thing!
