Gann and Marloes Peninsula

From Ian Smith. More birders than birds at The Gann on 18th, with 4 Dunlin and the Curlew Sand.  Lesser Whitethroat singing from gorse scrub near SW of runway intersections on Dale airfield and 3 widely dispersed Wheatear individuals.  All change on 19th with The Gann holding 14 Turnstone around midday and further accurate count around 6.30 of 119 Dunlin and 8 Sanderling. Mid pm circuit walk around headland from Marloes car park to Deer Park was accompanied by 1 Wheatear by hill fort; Wall butterflies throughout; a few Small Coppers and singing Sedge Warbler,  three recently emerged Large Red Damselflies on the north coast.  A quiet calm sunny start with fingers crossed for coming week.
