Ian Smith and I paid a visit to Ty Rhyg this morning to check for Willow tits. A thorough search of all the tracks turned up two singing birds. Other birds included at least 2 singing Redstart, a couple of Garden warblers, Whitethroat, Grasshopper warbler, Redpolls, Siskins and a calling Cuckoo. 4 duck flushed from one of the ponds, 2 Mallard and 2 smaller which I assume were Teal but out of sight before we got decent views. A sheeps carcass by the entrance had drawn in a breakfast queue, at one stage c20 Raven, a dozen Carrion crows, 2 Red Kite and 2 Buzzard were waiting their turn, 18 of the Ravens headed off west. Nice to share some Pembrokeshire birds with Ian.
