What a lovely day

So here are some time fillers - a selection of not very interesting ringed large gulls at Newport recently.

Great Black Back Orange S43:M on April 7 & 20 was ringed as a nestling on the Calf of Man in June 2017. It was first seen at Newport in October 2017 & has had 50 sightings here since, with just one outlier at Fishguard.

GBB Red W:055 on April 11 & 27 is a Skokholm bird with nearly as many sightings at Newport as S43:M. At one stage I thought they were pairing up, but it seems not to be.

GBB Green B:160, on April 8, was ringed as a nestling on Bardsey in June 2019. It was on Skomer & the Gann in October, in Brittany in Feb 2020 & then the Gann & Newport in October.

GBB Red 885:D on April 18 was ringed as a nestling on a rooftop in Dublin in June 2019. This is the first resighting.

Lesser Black Back Orange 223:F on April 23 was ringed as an adult in East Lothian in July 2017. No further details as the ringer is "updating his database", as he was when I reported another of his birds last November.

LBB White 15X:C also on April 23 was ringed as a chick in Ayrshire in June 2017. This is the first resighting.

Herring Gull Black T6WG on April 24 was ringed as a nestling on the Calf of Man in June 2019.This is the first resighting.

Herring G Yellow K=Y on April 29 Was ringed as a nestling at a rooftop nest in Cardiff in July 2020. It was seen at Fishguard in September.
