Gann

A nice selection of waders with a Sanderling, a Turnstone, 2 Common Sandpiper, 5 Black-tailed Godwit, 75 Oystercatcher, 22 Dunlin, 24 Ringed Plover, 10+ Redshank and 5 Greenshank.  The Curlew flock was up the saltmarsh.  Singles of Little Egret and Grey Heron.

The 2 families of Shelduck have successfully fledged 9 youngsters between them.  The 2 males departed a little while back, the females remaining with the chicks which have got the hang of flying now.  This afternoon there was no sign of the older family (4 youngsters) but the younger ones (5) still present with mum.  Suspect it won't be long and they will be gone to their moulting / wintering grounds.
