An immature Pochard was a surprise on the river this morning whilst out ringing. Seen from the River Viewpoint on the Reserve at 8am during high tide and no doubt will move as the tide drops. Two Goosanders also present.
Yesterday's highlights included a juvenile Yellow Wagtail around Patch and at least 1 Coot and 1 Teal on the Reserve. The more interesting waders in the estuary included, 1 breeding plumage Grey Plover, 3 juvenile Knot and 1 juvenile Bar-tailed Godwit. A weekend summary of other species later.
