The Teifi

A juvenile Yellow Wagtail on the end of Patch with Pied Wagtails and the small wader flock at high tide this morning. The two Coots are still present on the reserve.

Waders around the estuary include 50 Ringed Plover, 40 Dunlin, 15 Sanderling and 1 Redshank. A flock of 40 Oystercatcher on Poppit beach early morning were likely new arrivals.

Maybe Sanderling have had a better breeding season with several juveniles present in the flock. A single adult Sandwich Tern was in the estuary this morning and 5 adult Common Terns appeared late this evening.

Common Dolphins - more sightings this year around the Teifi than in the past 15 years. At least 60 (sixty) spent the 3 hours before dark this evening off Cemaes Head, including many females with  calves.
