From Daivd Ord:
Monday pm - in common with the sightings of others around the estuary, Monday saw the return of the first autumn Ringed Plover (5), Dunlin (3), Teal (3) and Snipe (4) to Sprinkle Pill. Something put the wader flocks to flight out of the salt marsh and, almost immediately afterwards, drove the geese from the neighbouring fields onto the mud flats. The last time I saw such an impressive reaction it was to a Goshawk flypast. Unfortunately, this time I failed to see the culprit. It did, however, allow a count of larger than usual flocks of Oystercatcher (22) and Greylag Goose (71). A solitary Whimbrel prospected on the mud flats.
