A touch of a wintery wader feel to tonights walk. 24 Lapwings in Trehills fields the first of the autumn/winter, Golden plover could be heard calling in another but couldn't see them. 7 Snipe and a Jack snipe in the rough pasture above Martin's Haven. More snipe over the mere. Single Chiffchaffs in Martin's Haven and the withys west of the mere. 10 Shoveler on the mere, a Ring plover flying around and a Goldcrest out from the Britton Hide. Stopped at the Gann, hoping to have another look at the BH gulls but only a handful this evening and just 2 adult Med gulls. Another Chiffchaff by the car park. 7 Greenshank, 6 Dunlin, 4 Barwits, 3 Grey plover. 5 Little grebe and 3 PB Brent. A large female Sparrowhawk hunting around the lagoon spooking the 100+ Herring gulls into the air.
